Training content / programme:

Theory

Basics of abrasives and surface finishing
Selection and use of suitable machinery and tools
Factors affecting the sanding result (pressure, speed, grit size)

Practice – Stainless steel

Removing mill scale and satin finishing of hot-rolled components
Mirror finish on stainless steel – machining of flat surfaces, from weld removal to a high-gloss finish
Machining of round tubes (e.g. handrails)
- Weld seam removal
- V-groove machining (45°)
- Surface satin finishing
Bevel and fillet weld grinding
Machining of hard-to-reach weld seams
Surface quality control

Practice – Aluminium

Presentation of unique abrasives
Preparation of aluminium components for coating
